Matam : des médicaments et produits vétérinaires d’une valeur de 18,6 millions de FCFA saisis à Bondji
The Matam Customs Mobile Brigade, under the Matam Customs Subdivision and the Northern Regional Customs Directorate, intercepted a large shipment of pharmaceutical and veterinary products on Thursday, September 24, 2026.
The merchandise, intended, according to the information gathered, for the local weekly market, is valued at 18,644,500 CFA francs.
The operation took place around 10 a.m., a short distance from the town of Bondji, in the Kanel department. It followed the acting on intelligence regarding the transport of a shipment of medicines destined for the weekly market in Bondji.
Alerted, Customs officers set up a surveillance system which allowed them to intercept the goods before they arrived at their destination.
According to information provided by customs services, the seizure includes a batch of veterinary medicines valued at nearly 2.5 million CFA francs.
The officers also seized 539 boxes of antihistamines, the value of which is estimated at over 16 million CFA francs.
