Mbour : sa femme le soupçonne d’infidélité et fouille son téléphone, il lui crève l’œil
A. Dione, a fisherman residing in Mbour, was convicted of domestic violence against his wife, S. Dione. According to L'Observateur, the events date back to last week.
Suspecting her husband of infidelity, the woman searched his phone while he slept to gather evidence of his relationship with another woman. "Despite her numerous complaints, her in-laws never took her seriously," the plaintiff explained, as quoted by the newspaper.
But his initiative will cost him dearly. Caught checking his phone, A. Dione violently attacked his wife, beating her severely before gouging out her left eye.
Injured, S. Dione was taken to a medical facility where she was issued a medical certificate stating that she was unable to work for 15 days. She then filed a complaint against her husband.
In court, the victim also recounted the humiliations and hardships she endured at home. The husband, who admitted to the acts, was ultimately sentenced to five days in prison after his wife granted him forgiveness in court, reports L'Observateur.
