Suspicious death of an upholsterer in Diourbel: his wife released, Youssou's farewell messages discovered

There's a new development in the case of the suspicious death of upholsterer A. Mboup, alias Youssou, in the Sessène district of Diourbel! His wife, A. Collé, who had been placed in police custody after her release from the hospital, was finally freed this Wednesday by investigators from the central police station of Diourbel.

According to Seneweb sources, this decision was made on the instructions of the public prosecutor. Thus, the widow, suspected in this tragedy, was not brought before the head of the local prosecutor's office, Amary Faye. She was suspected of allegedly assaulting her husband.

During the investigation, police discovered a voicemail message in which Youssou said goodbye to a friend. After his fight with his wife, the upholsterer gave his friend some advice via this audio recording, which was then reviewed by investigators.

In another message, addressed to his mother, Youssou first apologized to her before dividing up his assets.

These voice messages were reportedly discovered on the deceased's phone.

Nevertheless, the possibility of a criminal act has not been ruled out by the police.

As a reminder, the Sessène neighborhood of Diourbel was plunged into mourning following a domestic dispute. AM, an upholsterer of approximately 26 years old, better known as Youssou, was found dead, hanged. Injuries were found on his body, particularly to his neck.

His wife, meanwhile, was at the regional hospital in Diourbel, where she was receiving treatment.

According to the hospitalized woman's version of events, it was her husband who attacked her first during their argument.

Alerted to the tragedy, officers from the Diourbel central police station's urban security unit went to the scene to conduct the standard investigation. The police identified several unanswered questions in the case, and the suicide theory, put forward by some, was not favored by the judicial authorities. Indeed, the injuries found on Youssou's body intrigued the investigators.
