Pout : un carreleur condamné à 3 mois ferme après avoir poignardé un jeune lors d'un « simbe gaïndé »
Twenty-year-old tile setter M. Diouf appeared this Monday before the Thiès District Court for charges of assault and battery committed against the young A. Fall. The incident took place in Pout.
In court, the plaintiff recounted that she had encountered the defendant at a local gathering. According to her account, Mr. Diouf hurled insults at her without provocation. When she responded, the situation escalated. A. Fall stated that the defendant then brandished a knife and stabbed her three times, notably in the neck, head, and back.
Faced with the accusations, Mr. Diouf attempted to defend himself. He maintains that it was the plaintiff who held the knife at the beginning of the altercation. According to him, it was during the fight that he managed to retrieve the weapon before striking his opponent.
Considering the facts established, the public prosecutor requested three months of imprisonment, as well as a fine of 50,000 FCFA against the defendant.
The court ultimately found Mr. Diouf guilty of assault and battery. He was sentenced to three months in prison and fined 50,000 FCFA. He will also have to pay 125,000 FCFA in damages to the plaintiff.
