Richard-Toll : Jets de projectiles, échauffourées et un coup de feu accidentel après un match
A football match played Wednesday evening in Richard-Toll was temporarily interrupted by clashes between supporters outside the stadium and an accidental gunshot by a police officer that injured a civilian.
The Ndombo-Thiossane Ndiangué match took place in a tense atmosphere that escalated into a confrontation around 10 p.m. between supporters of the two sides inside the stadium. Projectiles thrown onto the pitch forced the referee to temporarily halt play to restore order. The match eventually resumed and ended in a 2-2 draw.
Around 10:36 PM, isolated groups of supporters tried to resume their actions outside the stadium. However, officers from the Richard-Toll urban police station, who were keeping a close watch, dispersed the troublemakers.
It was during this time that a shot was accidentally fired. Police officer AS, stationed at the Richard-Toll urban police station, attempted to grab an anti-riot gun, which was loaded when he handled it. The projectile ricocheted off the door of the police vehicle before striking a civilian who was nearby. O. Niang, 36 years old, sustained a minor injury to his right cheekbone. Firefighters transported him to the Richard-Toll health district.
