Thiès : 2 ans de prison pour un électricien de 21 ans qui a cassé quatre dents à un septuagénaire dans un bus
An altercation between two passengers on a bus traveling between Touba and Thiès led to El Hadj, a 21-year-old electrician, appearing before the Thiès court. He is accused of assault and battery resulting in a 15-day temporary incapacity for work (ITT) for B. Ndiaye, a man in his seventies.
According to B. Ndiaye's statement, the defendant, who was traveling on the same bus, was causing a disturbance during the journey. An elderly woman tried to reason with him, but the young man attacked her and beat her severely. B. Ndiaye then intervened, asking the young man to leave the elderly woman alone. He was subsequently attacked himself.
With tears in his eyes, the 70-year-old explained in court that El Hadj had punched him repeatedly in the mouth, causing him to lose four teeth. El Hadj admitted to the assault, claiming it was a mistake. The public prosecutor requested a two-month prison sentence.
The court followed the prosecution's recommendations and found El Hadj guilty of the charges against him. He was sentenced to two months in prison and fined 20,000 CFA francs.

Nous sommes en Afrique. Un septuagénaire vs un jeune de 20 ans. Le respect de l'aîné est une valeur africaine et dans une cas d'un papa ou grand-père.
