Thiès : Un incendie ravage une voiture en pleine route, pas de victime à déplorer
A fire of unusual intensity broke out on Sunday, September 27, 2026, on the Tivaouane road, near the village of Keur Ndioukoune, a few kilometers from Thiès. A private vehicle was completely engulfed in flames. The three passengers on board managed to escape the vehicle unharmed before the blaze spread.
The particularly dramatic incident occurred around 2 p.m. While the car was driving normally towards its destination, a fire suddenly broke out inside the passenger compartment. Alerted by the first smoke and the flames, the occupants reacted quickly, pulling the car over and evacuating the premises immediately.
Their composure prevented the worst: in the space of a few seconds, the vehicle was transformed into a veritable burning trap, completely consumed before the arrival of the rescue services and firefighters.
Although the vehicle was completely destroyed by fire, there were no fatalities or serious injuries. An investigation will determine the exact cause of the sudden blaze, with an electrical short circuit being the leading hypothesis.
