The Touba gendarmerie's research brigade has dismantled an organized network specializing in flour order fraud against Olam Agri, a company specializing in the production and marketing of this product. The two ringleaders were apprehended following a meticulous operation conducted by the gendarmes, who demonstrated remarkable composure in avoiding arousing the criminals' suspicions and allowing for their arrest in the act.

The events date back to the eve of the Magal of Touba, when an individual presented himself at the Olam Agri warehouse, located in the Ndame district of Touba, under a false identity: that of CI FAYE. He first spoke with the warehouse manager to obtain information on the procedures for opening an account and on the conditions for supplying flour, before contacting the company's sales department.

On August 13, 2026, the individual placed an initial order for fifteen million nine hundred thousand (15,900,000) CFA francs. A few days later, he repeated the transaction by placing a second order, worth sixteen million (16,000,000) CFA francs, which was also delivered.

To justify his payments, the accused sent the sales department, via WhatsApp, a copy of a bank deposit slip. Based solely on these documents, the company proceeded with deliveries without verifying their authenticity with the bank.

It was only afterward, following checks with the bank in question, that it became apparent that none of the payments mentioned had actually been made. Through this scheme, the individual had managed to have flour delivered to him, resulting in a total loss of thirty-one million nine hundred thousand (31,900,000) CFA francs, according to Seneweb sources.

A third order under close surveillance

Alerted, the company contacted the Touba Gendarmerie Company's Research Brigade, which discovered that a third order was being delivered. In order to identify the perpetrators and any accomplices without arousing suspicion, investigators asked the victim company to allow operations to continue as if nothing had happened.

It was in this context that a truck was sent by the criminals to remove the merchandise. Once the loading had begun, members of the Research Brigade discreetly intervened and arrested the truck driver, C. DIOUF.

He stated that he had been put in contact with the individual posing as CI FAYE by his employer, C. DIENG, who had given him a telephone number to contact once the loading was complete in order to obtain the destination of the merchandise.

When questioned, C. Dieng confirmed his employee's statements. He explained that an individual had contacted him on August 22, 2026, offering to transport a shipment of 1,000 bags of flour to Tambacounda. When asked how the person had obtained his phone number, he replied that he had seen it written on the door of his truck.

A surveillance operation carried out as far as Diourbel

Following these interviews, investigators asked the driver, C. Diouf, to contact the number he had been given to obtain further details about the delivery address. His contact then sent him the recipient's number via SMS. While the initial plan was to deliver the goods to Gossas, the recipient changed his plans at the last minute and asked the driver to go to Diourbel.

Under discreet surveillance, the gendarmes followed the shipment to Diourbel, maintaining constant contact with the driver to intervene at the opportune moment. Upon the truck's arrival at the designated location, the driver's contact dispatched a motorcycle driver, known as a "Jakarta," tasked with handing over the warehouse keys to the laborers recruited the previous day to unload the bags of flour.

Stationed nearby, the police waited for the motorcyclist to return after unloading before arresting him, once the keys had been recovered.

He stated that he did not know the person who had entrusted him with the keys, specifying that he had met her the day before the order arrived, when she had presented herself at the "Jakarta" motorcycle stop to entrust him with this mission, for the sum of 1,000 CFA francs.

Continuing the operation, the gendarmes asked the motorcyclist to contact his interlocutor to inform him that he had retrieved the store keys. The interlocutor asked him to wait, indicating that he would contact him later. A few minutes later, the gendarmes had the motorcyclist called back to inform him that he had to go to Thiès urgently and could no longer keep the keys. His interlocutor again asked him to wait, stating that he was on his way to retrieve them.

Meanwhile, investigators had the truck hidden nearby by the driver. A few hours later, while the store remained under surveillance, two individuals in a private vehicle arrived at the scene, followed by a flatbed truck they had hired to transport the merchandise to Dakar. Officers from the Touba Research Brigade then arrested them. They were identified as D. Diop and EH Fall.

Thanks to the perseverance and vigilance of the investigators from the Research Brigade of the Touba gendarmerie company, who were able to maintain constant surveillance over several hours and across several localities (Touba, Gossas, Diourbel) without being detected, the entire network was able to be neutralized and dismantled.

At the end of their detention, the two main suspects, D. Diop and Eh Fall, were brought before the public prosecutor at the Diourbel High Court, Amary Faye, on charges of criminal conspiracy, forgery and use of forged private bank documents, and fraud. The total damage suffered by the company Olam Agri is estimated at thirty-one million nine hundred thousand (31,900,000) CFA francs.

La police est un peu complice. Elle est trop molle. Utiliser des tenathies rouillées pour enlever les ongles des mains et des pieds, un à un. Après vous le laissez vaquer à ses occupations.
Si on adopte cette approche, tous les escrocs vont arrêter.
