On the night of September 23, investigators acted on information regarding hashish trafficking activity carried out by an individual in the area of Unit 26 of Parcelles Assainies. They immediately went to the scene.
This operation led to the arrest of the suspected trafficker. He identified himself as AU JALO. He was born on May 27, 1995, in Guinea-Bissau. He presented himself as a freight forwarder and stated that he resided in the Medina district. At the time of his arrest, he was in possession of a half-opened slab of hashish.
Investigators continued their inquiries and led the suspect to his home in the Medina district. A search of his room uncovered another slab of hashish. They also found 375,000 CFA francs and a 50-euro note. According to investigators, this money likely represents the proceeds of his illegal activities.
When questioned about the origin of the drugs, AU JALO stated that they had been given to him by a certain E., currently in Guinea-Bissau. He provided no further details. Investigators noted that his statement was unconvincing.
For these actions, AU JALO was taken into custody for offering or supplying hashish. The seized drugs and money were placed under seal.
The Prosecutor has been informed of the case. The investigation, opened by the district police station of unit 15 in Parcelles Assainies, is ongoing.
