Wakhinane Nimzatt : Un lutteur récidiviste déféré au parquet après une série d'agressions sanglantes
Brought before the prosecutor, W. Sakho alias Wadji is suspected of having terrorized and robbed walkers and athletes along the beach in Malibu, Wakhinane, as well as in Gadaye and Malika.
The police investigation has led to the arrest of an individual with a long criminal record, described as particularly violent by his own neighbors.
A series of complaints against persons unknown
The Wakhinane Nimzatt police station was initially contacted by MC Diouf, I. Ciss, MM Sall, and H. Aidara. They had filed complaints against persons unknown for repeated robberies committed with violence. Other victims of similar crimes subsequently came forward at the police station, some stating they could formally identify their attackers if confronted.
A very precise description, provided by one of the victims, led investigators to a notorious offender, a repeat offender, better known by the nickname Wadji and described as an extremely aggressive individual. Given the seriousness of the situation and the urgency of the matter, the mission was immediately assigned to the officers of the research brigade to track down the individual and bring him to headquarters.
The tense confrontation at the Comico housing project
On November 1, 2026, the suspect was spotted in the Comico housing complex in Wakhinane. A raid conducted by members of the search and intervention unit led to his arrest on the spot. Taken to the police station, he was formally identified as W. Sakho, also known as Wadji, aged 32. Claiming to be a wrestler from the Walo stable and residing in Sam Notaire, in the Guédiawaye district, he was the subject of several arrest warrants issued by the police.
A heavily incriminating criminal record
According to multiple sources at Seneweb, W. Sakho is well-known to local police for numerous assaults and aggravated robberies. Records from the Technical and Scientific Police Division (PTS) indicate that he also uses the alias WS Diouf and has several prior convictions.
He himself did not attempt to deny his prison record. Sentenced in 2020 to five years in prison, he served four and a half years before being released. In 2024, he relapsed into crime and received another two-year prison sentence, before being released in April 2026, just a few months before his current arrest.
The victims recount the horror
When questioned by investigators, the plaintiffs formally identified W. Sakho as their tormentor. They all described a well-established modus operandi: the suspect prowled the areas around Malibu beach, in Wakhinane, Gadaye and Malika, targeting isolated individuals or couples.
F. Sene recounted that she was resting, sitting on the ground with her boyfriend, when three individuals attacked them with knives and stole her cell phone. She maintained that she positively identified W. Sakho among a group of suspects.
MC Diouf stated that he was riding his scooter with his partner when they were blinded by splashes of incapacitating substances. After inhaling tear gas, they suffered a violent fall at the Wakhinane Nimzatt roundabout and were held at gunpoint by two assailants armed with knives who forcibly stole their two cell phones. He, too, identified Wadji without hesitation.
Other plaintiffs, such as Mr. Ndiaye, Messrs. Sall, I. Dieng, A. Diouf, and H. Aidara, corroborated these terrifying accounts. One of the victims recounted being surprised by two assailants armed with knives, one of whom was Wadji, whom she knew well. Faced with death threats, she complied, but this did not prevent the accused's accomplice from stabbing her violently in the thigh.
The accused changes his mind and confesses.
When confronted by his opponents, W. Sakho initially denied the facts with obvious bad faith, attempting to shift the entire responsibility onto a friend on the run named M. Niang, while claiming that he was being unfairly judged on his criminal past and that he had turned his back on banditry to devote himself exclusively to the fight.
However, cornered during confrontations and pushed into a corner by investigators, the wrestler confessed to the crimes of criminal conspiracy and multiple robberies committed day and night, involving violence, the use of bladed weapons, incapacitating substances, and a means of transport. He admitted that he and his accomplice would lie in wait for their victims along the coastline to terrorize them and rob them of their belongings.
A neighborhood investigation conducted at his residence further tarnished his image, portraying him as a fundamentally dangerous, cynical, and extremely violent individual. Held in custody for forty-eight hours without incident, W. Sakho was ultimately brought before the prosecutor at the High Court, before Public Prosecutor Saliou Dicko, who will now decide his legal fate.
