Cinq buts en cinq journées : Pape Moussa Fall peut-il encore être ignoré par les Lions ?
From Génération Foot to the top of French Ligue 2, Pape Moussa Fall is reaching new heights. At just 22 years old, the Senegalese striker is impressing with his efficiency and seems to have taken his game to another level this season.
His latest feat speaks volumes about his progress. Against Rodez, during the 5th matchday of Ligue 2, the FC Metz striker scored a resounding hat-trick, contributing significantly to the Grenats' 4-1 victory. Two headers and one with his left foot: the atypical profile of the Senegalese center-forward, standing at 2.03m, wreaked havoc.
With five goals in five games, Pape Moussa Fall has taken the lead in the Ligue 2 goalscoring charts. A performance that confirms the promise shown since his professional debut.
Steady progress
Trained at the Génération Foot academy, Pape Moussa Fall had already shown his attacking potential in Senegal before continuing his career in Belgium with RFC Seraing. His performances then attracted the attention of FC Metz.
His journey, however, has not been straightforward. Having suffered a torn cruciate ligament, the striker had to undergo a long period of rehabilitation before returning to the pitch. Today, he seems to have fully recovered his form, displaying a remarkable level of effectiveness.
Last season, he had already scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 24 appearances, establishing himself as one of the most prolific strikers in his league. His return to Seraing, recently confirmed, also demonstrates the confidence placed in him.
And now, the Lions?
His performances inevitably raise the question: does Pape Moussa Fall deserve a chance in the Senegal national team?
Competition is particularly fierce among the Lions, but his profile could provide the coach with an additional option. His size, aerial ability, capacity to put pressure on a defense, and, above all, his efficiency in front of goal are all assets.
With five goals in five matches, Pape Moussa Fall has taken the lead in the Ligue 2 scoring charts. This impressive efficiency raises the question: is it enough to convince the Lions' coach? At 22 years old, the 2.03m striker displays consistency and power that could earn him a place in the national team. But given the fierce competition within the squad, will his current performances be enough to secure his spot in the Lions' den?
