Équipe de France : Zidane veut-il mettre un terme au « défilé de mode à Clairefontaine » ?
With each French national team gathering, the arrival of the international players at Clairefontaine has become a major event for football fans… and fashion enthusiasts alike. Extravagant outfits, designer pieces, luxurious accessories, or meticulously crafted looks: some players no longer hesitate to transform their arrival at the château into a veritable fashion show.
Among the most closely watched, Jules Koundé has particularly distinguished himself in recent years. The French defender has become a true style icon, making numerous eye-catching appearances at Clairefontaine. His outfits, often original and sometimes very daring, regularly spark discussions on social media.
Other key players from the French national team also joined in the fun, making their arrival at the training camp a highly anticipated event. Photographers and cameras had made a habit of positioning themselves at the entrance to Clairefontaine to capture the international players' outfits.
But this tradition could see some changes with Zinédine Zidane's arrival as manager of the French national team. According to RMC Sport, the press will no longer be able to witness these arrivals directly. Footage will be provided by the communications department of the French Football Federation (FFF).
This decision, however, does not mean that the new coach intends to impose a dress code on his players. Zidane has clearly stated that everyone will remain free to dress as they wish.
"I haven't given any message of restraint. Everyone will arrive as they see fit. I'm not going to change anything about that," explained the French coach.
On the other hand, the former Ballon d'Or winner wants to better preserve the Clairefontaine environment. "What we're going to change is perhaps the fact that Clairefontaine is Clairefontaine. Once we arrive, we don't need to make a big deal out of it," he added.
It remains to be seen whether this new arrangement will put an end to the spectacle of the French national team's arrivals. Jules Koundé and his teammates will still be able to express their personalities through their outfits, but their entrances to Clairefontaine should now be much less accessible to photographers' lenses.
