Grand-Yoff : deux jeunes interpellés après une course-poursuite à moto, du haschich et du matériel saisis
A patrol from the Grand-Yoff district police station's research brigade led to the arrest of two young men on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at around 6:15 a.m., on the two lanes of Liberté 6.
According to the investigation, police officers spotted three individuals riding two motorcycles. When one of the motorcycles broke down, the officers decided to check the occupants' paperwork. However, the occupants reportedly refused to comply and fled.
A chase ensued. The fugitives eventually lost control of their motorcycles and crashed. Two of them were apprehended, while the third managed to escape.
During the search, police discovered a ball of hashish, a pair of shears and a gas pump on the suspects.
Questioned at the police station, the two suspects reportedly confessed to the crimes they are accused of. They allegedly stated that they stole one of the motorcycles behind the gendarmerie brigade at the Foire. According to their statements, the bolt cutters were intended to cut the motorcycle locks, while the gas pump was meant to counter any potential resistance from the victims.
The two suspects, identified as S.Guèye and B.Cheikh Sow, were taken into custody for the alleged offenses.
The two motorcycles, along with the seized equipment, have been placed under seal. The public prosecutor's office has been notified and an investigation has been opened to shed light on this case and attempt to identify the third suspect who is still at large.
