In the lead-up to the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, the national police participated in a major awareness and prevention initiative for young people on Friday, September 18, 2026, held at the Saly Portudal primary school. This initiative was carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Communication, Relations with Institutions and the Government Spokesperson, as well as the municipality of Saly Portudal.

The event began with the raising of the colours in the presence of the sub-prefect, the mayor of Saly Portudal, the urban commissioner of Saly, the deputy director of Communication of the ministry as well as the chief commissioner of the Communication and Public Relations Division of the national police.

One hundred young people were made aware of four key themes.

This mobilization made it possible to inform and equip 100 young people around four major themes:

"Prevention and the fight against irregular emigration"; "Prevention and the fight against drug use and trafficking"; " Discovery and knowledge of the police institution"; "Presentation of the National Committee for the Security of the Dakar-2026 Youth Olympic Games (CNS-JOJ), which brings together all the defense and security forces.

Through this field action, the national police reaffirmed its commitment to the protection of youth, prevention and the promotion of responsible citizenship, in view of the Dakar-2026 Youth Olympic Games.
