Spanish La Liga: Barça and Lamine Yamal respond to Real Madrid

Twenty-four hours after Real Madrid's impressive 4-1 victory over Rayo Vallecano, FC Barcelona needed to respond. Playing away at Levante on Sunday, the Catalans showed no signs of nerves and secured a comfortable 4-2 win.

Barça took an early lead thanks to Xavi Espart, who opened the scoring in the 5th minute from a pass by his captain, Raphinha. Dominant and technically superior, Hans-Dieter Flick's men then doubled their lead through Lamine Yamal. The young Spanish international perfectly finished off a Raphinha cross in the 20th minute.

Upon returning from the locker room, Lamine Yamal once again distinguished himself. The Spanish prodigy won a penalty which he calmly converted himself in the 48th minute, making the score 0-3.

Levante then tried to revive the suspense with Ivan Romero's goal in the 79th minute, followed by Roger Brugué's strike in the 88th. But Barça ultimately regained control of the match and definitively sealed their victory thanks to Karim Adeyemi, who scored the fourth goal in stoppage time (90+3).

With this victory (2-4), FC Barcelona regains a three-point lead over its Madrid rival.
