Lions: FIFA gives the green light for Malang Sarr, Lamine Sy and Rassoul Ndiaye!

The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) has officially announced that FIFA has confirmed the eligibility of three new players to represent Senegal's national teams. This follows administrative procedures carried out by the general secretariat of the governing body of Senegalese football.

Malang Sarr officially registered to play for the national team

The first case concerns defender Malang Mamadou William Georges Sarr, born on January 23, 1999. His request to change his sporting association, submitted by the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), was validated by a decision of the sole judge of the Players' Status Chamber of the FIFA Court of Appeal, issued under reference FPSD-25822 by Argentinian Javier Vijande Penas. The former French youth international is thus declared eligible to play for the Lions with immediate effect.

Lamine Sy and Rassoul Ndiaye also confirmed

The second player is Lamine Sy, born on August 10, 2002. This French-Senegalese dual national has never played for the French national team or for any of the youth teams, a fact confirmed by the French Football Federation (FFF) on September 18, 2026. Meeting all the conditions stipulated by the FIFA Statutes Implementing Regulations, he is declared eligible to play for Senegal without a formal decision from the Court of Arbitration for Sport being required, under reference FPSD-25823.

Finally, FIFA has also confirmed, under reference FPSD-25824, the eligibility of Rassoul Nader Ndiaye, born on December 11, 2001, in Besançon. A Senegalese national who, according to the FFF's attestation, has never played for any French national team, the midfielder officially joins the pool of players available to Senegal.

The Senegalese Football Federation welcomed this triple administrative confirmation. These arrivals broaden the range of tactical options available to national coach Patrick Vieira, as the crucial qualifying matches for the 2027 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations approach.
