Mali : L’entraîneur des Aigles Dames viré
Birama Konaté is no longer the coach of Mali's women's national football team. He was dismissed by the Malian Football Federation (Femafoot). This decision comes a month after the Eagles' elimination in the first round of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco 2026.
According to the Secretary General of the federal body Abba Mahamane, contacted by the newspaper l'Essor, Femafoot "wishes to breathe new life into this women's team of Mali and (Birama Konaté) is unfortunately no longer part of it".
Pending the appointment of the future head coach, the interim role will be filled by Ms. Bintou Camara, according to Mr. Mahamane. As a reminder, Birama Konaté was appointed head coach of the Women's Eagles in September 2025.
