Real Madrid : Mourinho pointe un relâchement inquiétant
Real Madrid secured a valuable 3-2 victory away to Elche on Tuesday in La Liga, but José Mourinho was not entirely satisfied with his players' performance. Despite Los Blancos taking a 2-0 lead, the Portuguese manager lamented their inability to put the game to bed.
For Mourinho, the scenario could have been very different if his team had been able to capitalize on their opportunities and maintain the same intensity until the end.
"The problem is obvious. These are matches where we have opportunities to finish and we don't take them. When everything seems easy, we drop our intensity, we lose control and we misinterpret the situation," the Portuguese coach explained at a press conference.
The Real Madrid coach also pointed to his team's inconsistency, noting their tendency to alternate between brilliant spells and periods of complacency. "If we alternate between moments of genius and others where we are passive, lacking intensity, of course it's worrying. But we won," he concluded.
