Putting the customer first, rather than the hierarchy, Sonatel launched its 2026 Orange Day under the slogan "My Customer, My Boss." From CEO Brelotte Bâ to the finance and audit teams, all staff members went out into the field in Dakar and the regions to gather feedback from subscribers. The incumbent operator took the opportunity to unveil major technological innovations on its Max it app, including voice control in Wolof and installment payments for fiber optic internet, while also partnering with the Olympic Torch Relay for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
With the "My Customer, My Boss" concept, all departments at Sonatel are mobilized to listen to customers and address their concerns. The operator is highlighting its innovations, notably Wolof voice commands on the Max it super-application, and is launching a 24GB internet promotion for 3,000 CFA francs. At Sonatel, the customer is truly the boss. This is the message conveyed by Brelotte Bâ, the company's CEO, at the launch of the traditional Orange Day, combined this year with the "My Customer, My Boss" initiative.
For this initiative, all of the company's departments and its partners are mobilized in the field to meet with consumers, gather their suggestions, and present the available offers and services. "The real boss isn't the CEO, it's the customer!" declared Brelotte Bâ. For him, this day is an opportunity to reiterate that customer satisfaction is everyone's responsibility, not just that of the sales teams. Representatives from various departments, including audit, finance, and sales, are participating in this outreach effort. The goal is to listen to customers, better understand their challenges, gather their feedback, and provide them with solutions tailored to their needs. According to the CEO, this mobilization reflects Sonatel's commitment to placing customer expectations at the heart of its operations. The day also provides an opportunity to showcase the operator's innovations and commercial offers.
Max it in Wolof and a 24GB promotion for 3,000 FCFA
Beyond its focus on customer proximity, Sonatel is using this event to showcase its digital innovations. Mamadou Bousso, Director of Consumer Marketing, presented the new features of Max it, the operator's super-application. Users can now perform certain operations using voice commands in Wolof. Specifically, they can purchase an internet pass or pay their fiber bill using voice commands, without having to go through the usual steps in the application.
Another new feature announced is the option to pay your fiber optic bill in installments. For a monthly bill of 14,900 CFA francs, customers can make payments of 500 or 1,000 CFA francs per day, depending on their means and needs. The operator is also highlighting a 24GB internet promotion for 3,000 CFA francs, valid on its 4G network. This offer is one of the main selling points of this Orange Day. For Mamadou Bousso, this initiative, organized for over twenty years, remains an important event for strengthening the relationship between Sonatel and its customers. It allows the company to directly hear their concerns, while presenting the services and solutions developed to make their daily lives easier.
A mobilization extending to the regions and the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games
This edition of Orange Day also coincides with the closing of the Olympic Torch Relay. Sonatel, a premium sponsor of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG), has chosen to partner with this event to reaffirm its commitment to the organizing committee. According to Mamadou Bousso, the company's teams were scheduled to join the organizers in Guédiawaye at 3:00 PM to support this leg of the tour. Through this participation, Sonatel aims to contribute to the mobilization around the YOG, which will bring together young athletes from various countries in Dakar.
Orange Day, however, is not limited to the capital. The consumer marketing director explained that Sonatel's regional offices, located throughout Senegal, were also mobilized to meet with customers. With "My Customer, My Boss," the company aims to emphasize that customer relations are not simply about selling services. They also involve listening, addressing concerns, and continuously improving the solutions offered to consumers.
