Orange meilleure connexion, Yas en tête sur la voix...: l’ARTP note les opérateurs (Gamou)
This Tuesday is Gamou day. The faithful are converging on various religious centers to celebrate Mawlid. On this occasion, the Telecommunications and Postal Regulatory Authority (ARTP) conducted a quality control check of the services offered by telephone operators.
At the end of this evaluation, ARTP notes that for voice quality in Tivaouane, Yas has reached all the thresholds set, with in particular no interruptions, a blocking rate of 0.64% and an establishment rate of 99.3%.
Orange, for its part, meets all thresholds except for the one relating to call establishment, which stands at 97.37%. However, the operator displays the best MOS score with 3.70%, reflecting better voice quality according to this indicator.
In Medina Baye, Yas also reaches all thresholds, with an establishment rate of 100%. Orange meets all thresholds, with the exception, again, of the one relating to the establishment of communications, which stands at 97.35%.
Expresso, for its part, meets the thresholds for blocking, disconnections, and successful calls in Tivaouane, but remains below the required thresholds for call establishment and voice quality. In Medina Baye, the operator does not meet any of the assessed voice quality thresholds.
Mobile connection
Regarding mobile data services, in Tivaouane, Orange and Yas meet the sending threshold, with 98.82% and 97.65% respectively, but remain below the thresholds set for web browsing and downloading.
ARTP points out, however, that Orange offers the best speeds, with 34.57 Mbps download and 15.35 Mbps upload, thanks in particular to a 5G experience.
In Medina Baye, Orange reaches all thresholds, with 99.03% for browsing, 99.82% for downloading and 99.47% for sending.
Yas, for its part, respects the thresholds relating to downloading and sending and displays the best download speed, with 39.27 Mbps.
Expresso, for its part, does not reach any of the thresholds set for mobile data services in the two controlled zones, reports ARTP.
ARTP's ranking
Following its evaluation, ARTP ranked Yas first for voice services in Tivaouane, while Orange came out on top for mobile data. "Each one ahead of the other in second place," the regulator specified. Expresso held third place in both categories.
In Medina Baye, the ranking is identical: Yas comes out on top for voice calls, while Orange ranks first for mobile data. Expresso also comes in last.
Finally, regarding public exposure to electromagnetic fields (RNI), ARTP indicates that the three operators comply with the standards in force.
