Transport aérien : Air Sénégal renforce sa flotte avec l’acquisition d’un Boeing 737-800
The national airline Air Senegal has acquired a new aircraft. It is a Boeing 737-800, which the Minister of Land and Air Transport, Abdoul Ahad Ndiaye, received on Monday, September 7, 2026. The official ceremony, held at Blaise Diagne International Airport (AIBD) in Diass, was also attended by the Minister of State, Minister of Transport, Merchant Marine, and Logistics of Gabon, Mr. Ulrich Manfoumbi Manfoumbi; the Director General of Air Senegal, Mr. Tidiane Ndiaye; among others.
A single-aisle aircraft
The Boeing 737-800 belongs to the Boeing 737 NG family of single-aisle aircraft. With a two-class configuration, this aircraft offers both comfort and safety. It has a total capacity of 174 seats, including 12 in business class and 162 in economy class. Measuring 39.5 meters in length and 3.54 meters in cabin width, the aircraft has a wingspan of 35.8 meters and a height of 12.5 meters. Known for its versatility, this single-aisle aircraft is widely used by airlines for short- and medium-haul routes. The Boeing also features Recaro seats, a modern and ergonomic cabin, spacious overhead bins, optimized lighting for passenger comfort, three lavatories, and three galleys.
