«Ceux qui parlent d’alcool, de filles dans la tanière…» : Elhadj Diouf contre-attaque et interpelle Gomis de Walf
The delegation from the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF), which had traveled to the United States for the World Cup, returned home on Tuesday. People are already starting to talk. Elhadj Diouf wasted no time in addressing the rumors circulating.
“Today, everything you heard over there is nonsense, it’s rubbish. The only truth we have to tell the Senegalese people is that we didn’t achieve our goal of reaching the quarterfinals. It hurts all of us; we would have loved to be there, and that’s the truth,” he asserted into the microphone of “Aladji Malick TV.” He continued, “Those who are talking about alcohol and girls, there was none of that.”
The former Lions striker even said he called the Walf journalist who was talking about the presence of girls in the team camp during the previous Africa Cup of Nations: "I just got off the phone with Gomis. I heard him talking too. And I told him to take back what he said, otherwise I'll show him that his claims are false."
Elhadj Diouf believes the only failure of this campaign was not qualifying for the round of 16. "But everything you've heard about, the fights and all that, frankly, I'm telling you the truth, there was none of that," he says. For him, the most important thing now is to regroup and prepare for the Africa Cup of Nations, which is coming up soon.
