Démission, échanges avec Ousmane Sonko et reniement des valeurs : Les révélations de Nit Doff dans l'émission Ultimatum
Invited to the Ultimatum program on Seneweb TV, the committed artist and activist Mor Talla Guèye, better known as Nit Doff, spoke at length about his recent resignation and the ethical and political reasons that led him to relinquish his functions within the regime.
When asked about his state of mind after his departure, the former chairman of the board of directors of the Urban Culture Development Fund (FDCi) said he was "relieved, at peace with himself, and very proud to have upheld his principles." Mor Talla Guèye recalled that leaving an official position was not an easy decision, but that he was determined to prove that his commitment had never been motivated by privilege or financial gain.
Fair management and ambitious goals for culture
Reflecting on his role as head of the FDCi, the rapper explained that he worked towards a transparent and equitable distribution of public funds. He highlighted the implementation of initiatives aimed at including people with disabilities, women, and cultural actors from the regions, thus breaking with practices of nepotism or clannish management.
Mor Talla Guèye recalled the ambitions shared with the general management to equip the urban culture sector with modern infrastructure, including the creation of performance venues and the acquisition of sound equipment in order to support promoters and grant substantial subsidies to artists.
"I don't like betrayal."
Addressing the political aspect, Mor Talla Guèye strongly denounced the excesses, arrogance, and betrayal observed among certain political actors. He recalled the sacrifices made by activists, artists, and ordinary citizens to bring about the project of change, lamenting that some leaders, once in power, forget the struggle and the memory of those who fought.
Speaking about his relationship with Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, Nit Doff revealed the details of their meeting. According to him, the Pastef leader reaffirmed his usual approach, which consists of calling on everyone to "take responsibility".
Reaffirming his commitment to the values of truth, justice and loyalty to the Senegalese people, Mor Talla Guèye concluded by stating that he preferred to regain his freedom of speech and independence rather than accept compromises contrary to his convictions.
