Enrôlement à la Couverture Sanitaire Universelle : La SEN-CSU et l’Armée nationale au chevet de la cité Gendarmerie de Jaxaay
The Gendarmerie City of Jaxaay (Keur Massar) hosted a free medical day on Saturday, June 13, 2026, organized by the Ministry of the Armed Forces, with the support of delegates from surrounding neighborhoods, relays, Bajjenu Goxx or even Imams.
The activity mobilized the populations of Jaxaay and surrounding localities and thanks to the notable presence of the teams from the Senegalese Agency for Universal Health Coverage (SEN-CSU), several people were able to register and obtain their insurance card, while benefiting from free consultations and screenings.
A total of 237 cards were produced on Saturday thanks to the efforts of the teams from the Dakar Regional Service. " We commend the strong mobilization of the population as well as the presence of the SEN-CSU, which is getting closer to citizens to facilitate their access to Universal Health Coverage ," said Jules SAMBOU, President of the Jaxaay Gendarmerie Neighborhood Council.
Having come to inquire about the system put in place, the Director General, Dr. El Hadj Sega GUÈYE, recalled that the ambition of the State of Senegal is to bring health services closer to citizens and to guarantee better access to care.
He particularly stressed the importance of early screening for chronic diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure.
The Minister of the Armed Forces, Mr. Yancoba DIÉMÉ, also visited the City to commend this social initiative of the Army and congratulate the SEN-CSU for the enrollment and card production system put in place.
