Fonction publique : Mamadou Lamine Dianté lance un audit biométrique des agents de l'État et implique les syndicats
On the sidelines of the celebration of World Public Service Day, the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Public Service Reform organized an information day on Monday, June 22nd, regarding the physical and biometric audit of civil servants. This operation, scheduled from June 23rd to July 31st, is part of the program to modernize the administration and streamline human resource management within the state. The objective is to strengthen the transparency, efficiency, and modernization of the administration in service to citizens.
The meeting, which brought together the social partners of the said ministry, was an opportunity for the Directorate General of the Civil Service to organize an open day to allow users to get closer to the administration and better understand its operation.
During this meeting, the Minister of Public Service, Labor, and Public Service Reform, Mamadou Lamine Dianté, emphasized the importance of union involvement in the success of this mission. "We felt that, on the eve of deploying teams in the field, it was important to meet with all social partners, particularly the unions in the health, education, and justice sectors, to share this audit exercise with them," he stated. He indicated that the audit will provide reliable data on the civil service workforce and ensure better control of the wage bill.
Mamadou Lamine Dianté also commended the commitment of social partners to support the ministry in this operation, which he described as "essential for the efficiency of public administration." The minister also assured that the authorities would provide the necessary human and material resources to ensure the activity is carried out under the best possible conditions. He also welcomed the open house initiative, organized in conjunction with the celebration, for the first time in Senegal, of World Public Service Day. According to him, this initiative will allow citizens to better understand how the ministry operates and to provide feedback that could improve the quality of public services.
He also announced that World Public Service Day will be an opportunity to recognize "the most deserving civil servants identified in the various ministries." "The goal is to create a kind of healthy competition so that civil servants can give their best for the benefit of the people of Senegal," he stated.
Participating in the meeting, Mbaye Sarr, Secretary General of the Autonomous Union for the Development of Education and Training (SADEF) and spokesperson for the social partners, welcomed the organization of this audit, which he considers "a significant moment" for the Senegalese administration. According to him, the operation will provide the authorities with reliable information to make informed decisions tailored to the transformation challenges facing the state. He also expressed his satisfaction with the involvement of the social partners in the process. "We appreciated the fact that the Minister included us in this important activity. This will allow us to convey the message to our colleagues in the field and reassure them about the progress of the operation," the union leader stated.
He also indicated that discussions with the ministry had addressed several concerns and better prepared the staff involved. Mbaye Sarr concluded by expressing his confidence in Minister Mamadou Lamine Dianté, a former trade unionist, believing that his experience and knowledge of the field are assets for leading the anticipated reforms in the Senegalese civil service.
The meeting concluded with the minister visiting the stands to speak directly with users.
