Grand Magal de Touba : Près de 20 000 pèlerins transportés par Dakar Dem Dikk
On the occasion of the Grand Magal of Touba, the national transport company Dakar Dem Dikk (DDD) presented, this Saturday at the Colobane station, the first provisional report on its special transport operation. According to statistics provided by the Secretary General of the national public transport company, Thierno Seydou Diop, 939 trips were made and 19,714 passengers were transported to the holy city. These are provisional figures that will be finalized at the end of the day. "The first trips began on July 30th. At this stage, we have 939 trips made and 19,714 passengers transported. These are provisional figures as of 12:30 PM," he specified, praising the commitment of the company's employees, who were mobilized to ensure the smooth running of this transport operation. According to him, this mobilization is part of the transformation dynamic undertaken for three years by the general management during major religious events, notably the Magal, the Gamou... "Dakar Dem Dikk has only one ambition: to be present on a daily basis alongside the people and to fully fulfill its mission of public service of general interest," he declared.
He indicated that, as in previous editions of the Magal, the system is deployed on several usual starting sites, notably in Colobane, Yoff, the National Arena and the Ngalandou Diouf stadium in Rufisque.
An operational control center for real-time monitoring
According to Thierno Seydou Diop, the 2026 edition is marked by a major innovation with the commissioning of the Dakar Dem Dikk Operational Control Center. This tool allows for real-time monitoring of buses, routes, and the progress of operations between Dakar and Touba. "This center provides us with provisional and real-time statistics. It tracks routes, buses, and the behavior of buses, passengers, and drivers. In short, from Colobane to Touba and from Touba to Colobane, nothing escapes our notice," he explained.
Returns are scheduled to begin on August 3rd.
The departures of the pilgrims were organized on July 30 and 31, as well as August 1. The Secretary General announced that a break is planned for August 2 before the launch of the return operations, scheduled to begin on August 3 at 5:00 a.m.
For the return journey, pilgrims will depart from the usual site in the HLM Sokhna Mbaye neighborhood of Touba. The national company assures that the same logistical arrangements, the same teams, and the same number of buses will be used for the return trips.
After 25 years of operation, Dakar Dem Dikk has thus confirmed its central role in the logistical organization of the Magal pilgrimage. The final results of this special operation will be released at the end of the fiscal year.

Bcp aussi ne sont pas partis à Touba mais plutôt à " touba Domicile". Leurs enfants leur demanderont " Papa aujourd'hui c'est Lundi, pourquoi t'es pas allé au travail" ? Éducation non vertueuse déjà transmise à son enfant.
Enfin pourquoi tricher en utilisant le motif de Serigne Touba pour faire la grasse matinée et la sieste gratuitement à la maison ?
Même pour ceux qui vont à Touba, quoi de plus facile de demander une Permission... déductible des congés ( arme dissuasive à utiliser pour les DRH, oui car certains salariés ne seront même pas généreux pour accorder 1 seul jour de congé ou 2 pour Serigne Touba).
Après ce triste constat d'abstenteisme record au Ministère du Travail... chargé du Travail, qu'en est-il des autres Ministères et Administration en général ??? Concernant le Ministère du Travail, ça n'a du afficher bureaux combles au niveau des institutions de tutelle CSS et IPRES mal gouvernés depuis très longtemps. Après le désastreux Ministre de passage du PIT Samba Sy les ...3 du nouveau régime qui ont précédé Lamine Dianté à savoir : Diémé actuel Ministre bavard de la Défense, Abass Fall et Olivier Boucal n'ont pas du annoncer la couleur du JJJUMBANTI pour annoncer la fin de la récréation. Et donc c'est à l'honneur de l'actuel Ministre Dianté de le Faire avec bcp de courage et de Patriotisme. Le Ministère du travail ne peut afficher un tel image désastreux de l'Administration. Le secteur privé a besoin d'être Protégé, c'est lui qui crée les richesses nationales du Pays.
