Magal de Touba : 4 000 policiers mobilisés, le DGPN Mame Seydou Ndour reçu par Cheikh Bassirou Abdou Khadr

Inspector General Mame Seydou Ndour, Director General of the National Police (DGPN), traveled to Touba to assess the security measures in place for the Grand Magal. Accompanied by his staff, he paid a courtesy visit to Serigne Bassirou Mbacké Abdou Khadr, spokesperson for Serigne Mountakha, to whom he expressed his gratitude for his continued support of the national police.

In the presence of Sheikh Bassirou Abdou Khadr and his delegation of several directors, the Director General of the National Police announced the upcoming inauguration of the new Tawfékh district police station. The ceremony will be presided over by the Minister of the Interior and Public Security on the Monday following the official celebration of the Grand Magal. Commissioner Diamé Yaré Fall, currently stationed in Saint-Louis, will head this new station.

Regarding the security arrangements deployed for the religious event, Inspector General Mame Seydou Ndour indicated that 4,000 police officers were mobilized, specifying that a reserve of personnel remained available if needed.

Regarding the proposed camp for the Mobile Intervention Group (GMI) requested by religious authorities in Touba, the Director General of the National Police explained that its construction would require a one-hectare plot of land. He clarified, however, that three plots of land had already been made available to the national police for other initiatives. Mame Seydou Ndour also requested prayers for peace in Senegal.

In his speech, Serigne Mountakha's spokesperson praised the work done by the national police and the actions taken by its director general.
