Politique : Le Mouvement Baghère d’Abord fusionne avec le parti MPC/Wàx Jëf

The president of the MPC/Wàx Jëf party, Amadou Touba Niane, proceeded this weekend to sign the merger agreement between his political party and the Baghère d'Abord Movement, until now led by Yaya Ndiaye.

The Baghère d'Abord Movement is based in the commune of Baghère, which has 24 villages and falls under the department of Goudomp, in the Sédhiou region.

This merger marks a new stage in the unification process initiated by the party led by the Commissioner for Economic Investigations. Through this agreement, the two entities intend to combine their strengths around a shared vision of development and political engagement.

Speaking on this occasion, Amadou Touba Niane emphasized the convergence of values that underpin this union.

“The Wàx Jëf party has always defended the values of social justice, good governance, solidarity, citizen participation and balanced territorial development. We find these same values in the struggle led by the Baghère d'Abord Movement. That is why our union appears today as an obvious choice,” he declared.

The leader of MPC/Wàx Jëf also stressed the need to build strong alliances in order to meet the expectations of the people.

“In a constantly changing world, faced with the many difficulties our populations are confronting, we have a duty to build strong, sincere and lasting coalitions. Our fellow citizens expect solutions, results and perspectives from us. They expect political leaders to prioritize the general interest over particular interests,” he stated.

Through this merger, the leaders of the two structures demonstrate their desire to strengthen their presence on the ground and to contribute to the construction of a political offering based on unity, proximity to the people and the search for concrete solutions to citizens' concerns.

This alliance also aims to consolidate the territorial roots of the MPC/Wàx Jëf party in southern Senegal and to strengthen the participation of local populations in economic and social development dynamics.
