Sitöé [hommage]: En larmes, le cri d’alerte de Ndella Ndong, emportée par le cancer du sein
Taken by breast cancer, Ndella Ndong chose to speak truthfully until the very end. Facing the camera, she recounted her illness without holding back. She also spoke of the support of her family, a discreet but essential pillar of strength in her fight.
A leading voice in the fight against women's cancers, Ndella Ndong spoke with Seneweb. At the head of the "Diama" foundation, she tirelessly championed early detection, awareness, and support. For her, every woman with cancer should feel supported, understood, and never alone.
On June 17th, after a 5-year battle, she passed away. Cancer claimed her life.
In 2024, the television program Sitöé gave her a platform. That day, Ndella spoke with raw emotion. She recounted her diagnosis, a brutal shock. She described her family's reaction, a mix of disbelief and solidarity. She reflected on her return to Senegal after 20 years in France—a choice she made to come back and get involved.
And above all, she reiterated her driving objective: "that no woman ever discovers her illness too late again. That fear gives way to self-examination, screening, and prevention."
