It is now official. Amadou Mahtar Mbow University (UAM) will host the Olympic Village for the Dakar-2026 Youth Olympic Games. A "Venue Youth Agreement" (VUA) partnership agreement has been signed between the COJOJ, the CROUS of Diamniadio and the university's administration.

Through this agreement, UAM becomes the future accommodation location for the thousands of young athletes, officials and accompanying persons expected at this historic event, the first Olympic event organized on the African continent.

The director of the CROUS (Regional Center for Student Services) in Diamniadio, Fama Dieng Ndiaye, emphasized the importance of this mission. "The CROUS in Diamniadio fully understands the responsibility entrusted to it. Our mission goes beyond simply providing infrastructure. We will contribute to offering thousands of young athletes, officials, and chaperones a welcoming environment, accommodation, and catering that meets the standards of excellence expected of an Olympic event," she stated.

For his part, the coordinator of the COJOJ, Ibrahima Wade, explained that the choice of Amadou Mahtar Mbow University was based on specific criteria. "UAM has exceptional advantages: a favorable location, modern infrastructure, significant accommodation capacity, services adapted to the daily needs of residents, as well as spaces that allow it to meet the operational requirements of an Olympic event," he stated.

The signing of this agreement marks a significant step forward in the preparation for the Dakar-2026 Youth Olympic Games and confirms the strategic role that the Amadou Mahtar Mbow University campus will play in the success of this global event.
