Zone industrielle de Diamniadio : AVCI Global Industrie ouvre une usine de textile et promeut le « Made in Sénégal »
It's official! The AVCI Global Industrie factory has opened its facilities at the Diamniadio International Industrial Platform (Dakar). The President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, officially inaugurated it this Saturday, June 20, 2026, in the presence of Mr. Serigne Guèye Diop, Minister of Industry and Trade; Mr. Cihad Bey, CEO of AVCI Global Industrie; as well as prominent figures from the institutional and economic sectors.
An investment of 6 billion FCFA located in the heart of the international industrial platform of Diamniadio
The inauguration of this modern industrial unit dedicated to processing raw cotton into high-value-added textile products marks a significant milestone in Senegal's industrial development and the promotion of "Made in Senegal." This 6 billion CFA franc investment will not only improve the sector's competitiveness but also reduce Senegal's dependence on textile and fabric imports.
The factory produces, in particular, underwear (briefs, boxers, boxer shorts and t-shirts for men, women and children) and ready-to-wear clothing.
"This inauguration reconciles Senegal with its industrial past."
According to the Head of State, the inauguration of this factory "reconciles Senegal with its industrial past, while resolutely projecting itself towards the future."
"This factory says that the country is getting back to work, and in this language that I hear today in Diamniadio, I rejoice in the inauguration of AVCI Global Industrie in the special economic zone, which also reconciles our country in part with its industrial past, while resolutely projecting itself towards the ambitious future that we have charted," stressed Bassirou Diomaye Faye.
He adds: “AVCI Global’s establishment in our special economic zone is much more than a private investment. It is the realization of the strategic vision that the Government holds. The figures are there, and it is on this momentum that we must continue. Today, 6 billion has been invested. A 4,680 m2 warehouse houses this unit dedicated to the manufacture of buildings. There are things we import, notably the clothing for our defense and security forces, which should be able to be fully supplied here by an industry that will also contribute to national revenue, beyond, of course, the jobs that are created.”
In this regard, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye commended the investor for their confidence in the country's many strengths. "I would therefore like to warmly welcome the AVCI group, whose CEO traveled from Turkey. This also reflects the confidence of investors who are now betting on the stability of our country, the quality of our workforce, and our exceptional geographical location at the crossroads of Atlantic trade routes," stated the Head of State.
